Colva beach is situated just 2 km away from Benaulim beach and while it is a little busier than its most local neighboring Goan beach it has its charms that keep attracting visitors back to the region year after year.

Despite the fact that Colva beach is a little busier than the intensely serene Benaulim beach it is still a lot quieter than Anjuna and the other major Goan beaches. However, it features more amenities, more shacks serving local cuisine and more life than its quieter counterparts.

If you’re looking for Goan beach that allows you the privilege (it is surely a privilege under these circumstances) to laze in the glorious weather interrupted by nothing but the occasional gentle, breeze and the urge for locally cooked cuisine then Colva is one of the more appealing Goan beaches available to you.

Colva has not grown as rapidly as other Goan beaches like Anjuna and while there are still ample resorts, hotels and restaurants they are not as immediately evident as in the busier Goa beach resorts.

It is developing at a steady pace but as it has yet to gain the notoriety and popularity of some of the Goan beaches you can enjoy tranquility in a beautiful setting.

Colva beach is particularly popular for the shacks and huts that dot the shoreline servicing local food and drink. These are open most of the day and evening, and many couples choose to enjoy the delights of locally caught seafood while watching the sun set over the beautifully clear seas.

Colva beach is a fairly popular Goan beach and, as such, there are plenty of hotels offering affordable and reasonable accommodation but they can also fill up very quickly.

Be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment. As is often the case in Goa, if you are looking to spend longer than a week or so then you may want to consider renting local accommodation for the period you are staying.
